Since 1984, INL's Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) has been the lead manufacturer of armor packages for the U.S. Army's Abrams main battle tank. SMC has the ability to provide independent technical evaluations and solutions to manufacturing, engineering, and material science for a variety of programs and customers. Our team works on-site with a 4x10 schedule located at our SMC facility with every Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
In this position you'll be responsible for leading a technical team of mechanical and electrical engineers supporting plant operations in a 24x7x365 production environment. Your team is responsible to maintain uptime on all production equipment and perform equipment upgrades. A detailed understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, the ability to troubleshoot, and prioritize your teams tasks will be required.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and maintenance of personnel records, such as position descriptions and training plans.
  • Personal development of staff and selection of new SMC System Engineering staff.
  • Providing technical assistance to support daily operations.
  • Responsible for application and compliance with procedures relating to Software Quality Assurance, Computer Security, Conduct of Operations and Configuration Management.
  • Performance evaluations, leadership responsibilities, setting priorities, and accountability of System Engineering team.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Applicable Bachelor's degree in engineering plus 8 years relevant experience, or applicable Master's degree plus 6 years relevant experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degrees are preferred for this role.
Job Information
  • Salary Grade 230 ($118,020 - $200,808).

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
