Senior Software Engineer
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) works to make the power grid smarter by developing and deploying innovative information technology solutions to meet New York's dynamic energy needs. The NYISO's Information Technology department invites applications for a full-time Senior Software Engineer.
The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop and maintain software products. This position will be responsible for participating in all phases of the product development lifecycle including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products; understanding the business and customer requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions; resolving technical and functional issues with software products and identifying ideas for improvements and enhancements. The Senior Software Engineer is expected to assist in the development of product user manuals and to maintain appropriate technical documentation. This position has a rotation based on-call production support requirement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years Java development and object-oriented design
- Being passionate about developing quality software and ensuring it meets Business needs
- A positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred hands on experience:
- Java / J2EE / Groovy / Kotlin
- SpringBoot / SpringData
- MyBatis / SQL
- JUnit / Cypress / Protractor
- Maven / Gradle
