Job Summary and Essential Functions

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is a private, not-for-profit company which manages competitive, internet based, wholesale electricity markets, applies cutting-edge technology to operate a reliable electricity system, and provides planning for the Empire State's energy future.

The NYISO's Market Structures department invites applications for a full-time Sr. Product Business Analyst. We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter, enjoys working in a dynamic team environment and possesses excellent requirement elicitation and relationship management skills.

The Sr. Product Business Analyst will work withNYISO business units and other stakeholders, for creation and prioritization of business, stakeholder, andfunctional requirements; document those requirements in the form of business and functional requirement specifications and use cases or user stories; work with IT to test, and validate the developed solution meets the business need and customer expectations.


  • Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) in Information Technology, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Seven years of relevantindustry-related or professional experience in multi-project environment which demonstrates success in requirements development process.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have in depth understanding of the technology and multi-practice disciplines associated with customer development projects, and comprehension of software development lifecycles and IT systems.
  • Business experience in electric power systems or wholesale electric markets is a plus.
