Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Pyrochemical and Molten Salt System group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Scientist/Engineer.
Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
The individual in this position is expected to possess expertise in the science and/or engineering of high temperature chemical, metallurgical, and/or electrochemical processes. It is desirable for this expertise may include pyrochemical processes such as those for molten salt-based nuclear fuel recycling, or similar industrial applications such as concentrated solar energy storage, and/or high temperature corrosion, molten salt processes, and associated technology applicable to molten salt reactor technologies. Experience or familiarity with research using radiological materials in inert-atmosphere gloveboxes or nuclear facilities is also desirable. The individual will be responsible to work with teams to develop and lead technical research activities and collaborations within existing programs as well as have the opportunity to develop and lead new research for DOE and other customers.
The person in this position will develop and maintain business opportunities for the department. This is done through development and maintenance of professional relationships with technical organizations and conferences, programmatic sponsors, responding to proposal calls, mentoring junior research staff, and collaborating with other research departments and organizations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors of Science with 8 years experience in engineering or science, a M.Sc. with 6 years experience in engineering or science, or a Ph.D. with 4 years experience in engineering or science.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship
Job Information:
  • Salary Grade 230 ($121,212 - $206,232)
