Safety Instructor and Facilitator

Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Learning Facilitation and Evaluation Group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as an instructor! This is a two-year project hire position.
Our team works an on site 4x10 schedule located at our WCB facility with every Friday off!
The role of this position is focused on facilitating and instructing safety training in the following areas: environmental safety and health, lock and tagout, electrical safety, radiological work, hoisting and rigging, aerial lift/forklift, and other general industry safety.
The incumbent must have a high degree of experience in one of the functional areas but does not need to have technical knowledge in all the functional areas listed above.
However, priority will be given to candidates with experience and knowledge in multiple functional areas.
The instructor will teach both in a physical classroom as well as in a virtual environment (i.e., using a platform such as Adobe Connect, Microsoft Teams etc.).
Class sizes can range from working with an employee 1-on-1 to a virtual class of 30 employees. The average classroom size is between 12 and 16 employees.
INL Training Services is embarking on a two-year initiative to optimize training programs and associated courses. This effort will apply research-supported design principles to streamline and increase value density of our courses.
The length of this position is for the life cycle of the optimization project which is minimum of two years.
This position free ups time for current facilitators/instructors to be able to spend more time optimizing course materials.
The incumbent's office will be located at our Willow creek Building in Idaho Falls Idaho. However, travel to deliver training to the different site locations at the INL will be necessary.
The main roles of this position are as follows: Facilitator/Instructor, Course Point of Contact, Performance Evaluator, INL Learning Services Team Member.
Level 2/3 - Bachelor's Degree plus 2-5 years relevant experience or 10-13 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Relevant degree in technical or business field.
Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, work in the fields listed below:
- instructing/facilitating safety, industrial, or professional business training
- environmental safety and health,
- lockout and tagout (LOTO),
- electrical safety,
- radiation worker,
- hoisting and rigging,
- and other general industry safety
- Salary Grade: GRADE 180/190
