Our team works an on-site 4x12 schedule located at our ATR facility.
Responsibilities Include:
- Operate reactor primary, secondary and utility cooling water systems.
- Operate 480V, Utility and Instrument uninterruptible power supplies.
- Monitor state of charge for lead acid batteries.
- Operate diesel generators in normal and emergency conditions.
- Operate and monitor emergency firewater injection systems for the reactor and irradiated fuel storage canal.
- Operate compressed air systems.
- Operate 4160VAC, 480VAC, 240VAC, 120VAC, 250VDC and 32VDC electrical systems.
- Conduct chemistry analysis of reactor coolant, experiment loop coolant, secondary coolant, and auxiliary water systems.
- Respond to the scene of events or casualties throughout the ATR Complex and take corrective actions, as directed by the LSRAO or Plant Foreperson.
- Perform duties as the Fissile Material Handler in the ATR canal, under the direction of the canal coordinator or the Plant Foreperson.
- Maintain detailed and accurate narrative logs. Train for the next level of certification.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Experience in a nuclear operating environment, or completion of ISU Energy Systems Technology Course, or Associates degree in Nuclear Operations Technology or related degree is desired.
- Salary: $34.02/hour (Rate can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)
- Chosen applicants are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- TDP-Testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
