Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Engineering and Product Development group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a technical career as a Project Manager (primarily infrastructure).
Since 1984, INL's Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) has been the lead manufacturer of armor packages for the U.S. Army's Abrams main battle tank. SMC has the ability to provide independent technical evaluations and solutions to manufacturing, engineering, and material science for a variety of programs and customers. SMC is designated as the Abrams Armor Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsibilities include leading small/medium projects and task oriented scope for larger (= $10M) projects. Annual portfolio responsibilities are = $20M. Develop and lead medium/large projects and capital projects with full project scope from formulation stages to project control and performance measurements through project delivery and closeout.
  • Responsible for technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and industry processes including their interfaces and inter-dependencies.
  • Utilize the use of construction, operations, R&D, and business systems throughout the project to assure project scope is accomplished, schedules are met, and work is completed within budget.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with the customer throughout the entire project to resolve problems and coordinate service functions.
  • Act as lead in planning and establishing schedules, forecasts, budgets, parameters, etc., and monitor progress to assure work is performed within budget.
  • Lead projects to ensure that they are completed on schedule, within budget, and that all work is executed in a safe manner.
  • In conjunction with completing the projects on schedule and within budget, ensure every effort is being employed to make sure that the technical and functional requirements specified by the US Army customer are being met.
  • Develop teams as appropriate to successfully complete projects.
  • Responsibility focus is primarily infrastructure projects, but may be assigned other type of projects as needed, dependent upon experience.
Minimum Requirements:
  • BS degree and 5 years' or MS degree and 3 years' relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements:
  • PMP certification.
Job Information
  • Salary Grade: 210 ($93,492 - $154,212)
