Title: Project Manager
Position Type: Direct Hire

Reports to: Director, O&M Services
Status: Exempt

Job Summary:
The Project Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors activities of assigned projects. The Project Manager ensures company goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, within budget and to the intended efficiencies of the project as well as providing the broader team with a level of experience and support to manage projects in a manner that maximizes customer satisfaction. Interacting and coordinating with PIC Group plant personnel, PIC Group corporate personnel, representatives of client organizations, project vendors, contractors, support agencies, and regulatory authorities. Reporting to the Director of O&M Services, the Project Manager may support the Directors of O&M Programs and EH&S. The Project Manager works in harmony and coordinates activities with the O&M team members, corporate personnel and plant personnel on matters pertaining to O&M contracts, power plant owners, and industrial clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Take on any site-specific projects and activities as assigned which may include supporting contract management activities, personnel evaluations, O&M program implementation, and plant assessments.
  • Pro-actively manage all Customer work orders to ensure compliance with scope and schedule.
  • Develop plans / schedules and present to corporate management for review and approval, once approved, present to O&M support team for review and execution.
  • Identify extra work opportunities and pro-actively discuss this with Customer to develop new work orders and change orders.
  • Oversee commercial process to draft work orders and change orders and support negotiations with Customer.
  • Support the development, implementation and training of the O&M Standards and related programs.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to O&M Specialists and on-island support team with respect to O&M program optimization.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend plant improvement projects. This would include a description and cost benefit analysis.
  • Review, evaluate and report on project status, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare project reports for management or others.
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinate project activities with team members.
  • Resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
  • Represent the company to review and take action to meet contractual obligations.
  • Advise company management on adverse situations as they arise.
  • Review, evaluate, and comment on project proposals from others. determine financial validity of proposed projects and rank according to profitability criteria.
  • Perform O&M assessments and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Ability to read and understand corporate programs, policies, procedures, and instructions specific to the O&M contracts.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and a proficiency with Microsoft suite of program including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with NERC CIP policies and implementation.
  • Valid US Passport with the ability to travel internationally to countries where PIC is doing business.
  • Position may require extended working hours with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions.

Physical Requirements:
  • Physical requirements include working on feet for 12-hour periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 75 pounds.
  • Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.).
  • Work with hazardous materials may be required.

Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a power industry position required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a project management role and one 1 year or more managing complex projects is desired.
  • Experience in O&M Contract Management and oversight preferred.
