Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Enterprise Support group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Microsoft 365 Business Partner! This team works a hybrid 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off. This position requires the employee to live within one hour distance from INL due to the need to come onsite for frequent in-person engagements.
Modern Workplace team provides among other services support for Citizen Creators (Creators) to develop successful digital solutions using no-code/low-code platforms from Microsoft including SharePoint (both on-premises and cloud) and the Power Platform within Microsoft 365 (M365).
Responsibilities Include:
  • Create relationships and advise the mission and business organizations (organizations) of capabilities available within the M365 platform that will simplify their current processes.
  • Engage with partners to understand, analyze, and evaluate the business problems they may have within their current processes. From this activity they will devise requirements to work with the technical team on creating solutions.
  • Primary liaison for the organization throughout engagements with the Modern Workplace team.
  • Work closely with a team of M365 system matter experts and trainers to ensure the solution fits within the M365 framework.
  • Assist in the defining of requirements for solutions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate M365 training for the organizations to enable creators to implement solutions themselves.
  • Analyze and evaluate user business problems and the development of system recommendations to meet requirements.
  • Facilitate the negotiation of requirements amongst multiple partners to deliver maximum efficiency and business value.
  • Determine the requirements of a project or program and communicate them clearly to a diverse group of customers, facilitators, and partners.
  • Deliver presentations and train individuals on measurement, analysis, improvement, and control.
  • Survey and analyze standard methodologies for techniques and processes.
  • Represent the organization, organize, and facilitate cross-functional project teams. Frequent interorganizational and outside customer contacts.
  • Determine a project's requirements by extracting them from business or government policies, as well as from current and future users, through interaction and research.
  • Conduct research to evaluate existing processes and creates diagrams of existing processes.
  • Continually verify the requirements and reject implementations that do not advance business objectives. Verifying requirements is accomplished through analysis, test, demonstration, and inspection.
  • Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Collect data to identify root cause of problems. Measures performance against process requirements.
  • Coordinate engagements with organizations across the lab. The focus of these engagements is to understand the technical needs the organizations may have and how IM can facilitate solutions to these needs.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Level 3: Bachelor's in Business, Communications or technical plus 5 years relevant experience or a MS plus 3 years relevant experience.
  • Level 4: Bachelor's in Business, Communications or technical plus 8 years relevant experience or a MS plus 6 years relevant experience.
  • Applicants are subject to the requirements of DOE O 142.3B, Unclassified Foreign National Access Program.
  • Minimum of 5 years working within Microsoft 365 including Teams, SharePoint-Online, Minimum of 3 years Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Experience in leading and directing business process mapping and implementation of business systems is required.
  • Experience in project management/standard methodology procedures.
  • Experience in defining and writing Business cases.
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating teams with members from multiple organizations and specialties.
Preferred Experience:
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team building, conflict management, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of other collaborative tools such as Docusign, box.com, and Lucid.
  • Broad understanding of application of principles, theories, and concepts in enterprise systems, plus working knowledge of business processes in related fields (e.g. financial accounting, human resources, supply chain, and work management).
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills are necessary to develop a deep understanding of the technical and business challenges clients face.
  • Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally within IM as well as with users.
  • Broad understanding of the strategic aspects of business and participates in and/or establishes initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the IM / partner relationships.
  • Understanding of systems engineering concepts.

  • Salary Grade 210 ($93,492 - $154,212) / Salary Grade 220 ($107,520 - $177,336)
