Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as an Equipment Operator (EO) or Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO).
Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our MFC facility with every Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
Perform all the roles and responsibilities of an Equipment Operator (EO) or Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) at the Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC).
  • Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, dump trucks, tanker trucks, semi-trucks, tractor-trailer combinations and flat beds, Must be able to secure a load properly
  • Operate overhead and mobile cranes
  • Perform periodic inspections of rigging
  • Perform load testing of rigging equipment
  • Operate equipment without restrictions
  • Plan and perform work using the principles of Conduct of Operations and Conduct of Maintenance. Ensure all principles of the Integrated Management System (ISM) are incorporated into all tasks and assignments
  • Perform manual material handling activities
  • Utilize Equipment Operator (EO) skills to operate all equipment identified for equipment operators
  • Conduct all work activities in a safe manner following direction in work control documents and applicable work control procedures and processes, best safety practices, including exercising "time-out" and "stop work" authorities as necessary when work assignments do not go as expected
  • Utilize principles and best practices of Conduct of Operations and Conduct of Operations in all work assignments
  • Maintain all equipment, facility, safety, and other qualifications (training) as directed
  • Perform administrative recordkeeping and documentation of work activities
  • Make recommendations to supervisor/manager on methods to improve operations
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have two years EO experience to be hired as an Equipment Operator
  • Must have four years EO experience to be hired as a Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Must possess and maintain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a T, H, N endorsement
  • Must be able to qualify as a RAD Worker
  • Must be able to operate various types of equipment without restrictions
  • Must be willing to become qualified as a rigger as required in DOE STD 1090 for operating Hoisting and Rigging Equipment
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship
Job Information:
  • Salary Grade: $36.45 (Rate can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)
