Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Material Acquisition group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Material Analyst.
Our team works an on-site 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls facility REC EROB IF -654 facility with every other Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
The Material Analyst has the authority to manage and maintain the Master Material Catalog. This includes authorities such as approving material requisitions and generating purchase requisitions-authorities which Procurements Specialists do not have.
Primary position roles are as follows:
  • Review all Ariba Material and Material with Services requests for accuracy as related to item descriptions, manufacturer, part/model numbers, unit of issue, commodity/UNSPSC codes, etc.
  • Perform high level procure ability reviews in accordance with established Prime Contract requirements, FAR/DEAR Clauses, and INL/BEA specific procedures.
  • Provide formal/informal training to program-specific material coordinators as related to Asset Suite data entry for new item initiation and material requisitions.
  • Interact with Stock Material Analyst while managing or converting direct catalog items to INL stocked warehouse inventory.
  • Manage and maintain the Master Materials Catalog (MMC) as follows:
  • Support the SCM BPO administrator by crafting MMC IDs to a standardized template
  • Evaluate, process and accurate new item initiations submitted via the Ariba ordering system and submitted through the Asset Suite Market Integrator.
  • Approve material requisitions
  • Manually generate purchase requisitions in Asset Suite which are not setup for auto-requisitions
  • Maintain Ariba UNSPSC codes.
  • Coordinate with other BEA groups (e.g. Property, Quality, Maintenance) to ensure the MMC is useful and accurately used
  • Manage certain elements of the procurement cycle as follows:
  • Coordinate the identification, specification and sourcing of materials
  • Determine the most appropriate contracting instrument
  • Review requisition information including specifications
The Material Analyst shall:
  • Have a working knowledge of the FAR, DEAR, and INL-specific policies and procedures applicable to the procurement process
  • Maintain precise documentation to justify decisions, conclusions, findings or recommendations
  • Provide guidance and direction to customers and suppliers regarding development of requisition documentation and other procurement-related issues
  • Provide guidance and direction to other Acquisition Staff as well as other Business Management organizations (e.g. PFC's, Accounts Payable, Project Management).
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Provide feedback, support and solutions to Acquisition Management
  • Participate in pre-procurement planning with programs to help develop requisition documentation and assist Requestors as needed
