The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) works to make the power grid smarter by developing and deploying innovative information technology solutions to meet New York's dynamic energy needs. The NYISO's Information Technology department invites applications for a full-time Manager, Reliability Technologies on the Software Development team.
The Manager, Software Development is responsible for managing a team of software engineers and QA professionals in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle related to the development, maintenance, testing, and implementation of the software products for Reliability Technologies. This individual is responsible for the on-time delivery of high-quality software changes that meet functional requirements and adhere to IT best practices related to software development, security, and test automation. In addition, this individual will coordinate and collaborate across the IT organization to ensure strategic and tactical objectives are successfully performed in a timely manner, providing strategic technical direction on Reliability Technologies applications. Lastly, this individual is responsible for managing the team's production support on a continuous (24x7x365) basis to ensure ongoing business operation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum seven years related experience in software development and/or project management.
- Minimum two years experience leading a team of software engineers/developers or other technical specialists.
- Minimum three years experience working in mission critical/enterprise information technology environment.
- Minimum five years experience in a full software development life-cycle environment.
- Background in the energy/utilities industry highly desired.
