Job Summary and Essential Functions

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO's Human Resources department invites applications for a full-time Human Resources Manager.

Human Resources at the NYISO plays an integral role in ensuring the organization can achieve both its short and long term business objectives, acting as a strategic business partner and providing critical leadership in the development, implementation, and administration of sound policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the engagement of a high performing workforce.

The Human Resources Manager will lead organization-wide efforts to help further define and reinforce the areas of compensation and benefit administration and should have experience managing benefit plans, as well as overseeing compensation benchmarking and outcomes, while also serving as a business partner for a group of NYISO teams. As the strategic business partner, the individual will work collaboratively with leadership from those teams to identify needs and effective solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required;
  • A minimum of seven years progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with Compensation and Benefit Programs .
  • PHR or SPHR Certification desirable.


The NYISO offers the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely, providing our employees with an enhanced work life balance. While the majority of the responsibilities of this role can be performed remotely, in most cases, employees will have periodic on-site requirements based on business needs.
