Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Information Security group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Junior Classification Analyst! Our team works an on-site 9x80 schedule located at our Willow Creek facility with every other Friday off.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Use engineering theory and principles in the development, interpretation, and administration of approved Department of Energy (DOE) Classification, Controlled Unclassified Information Programs, applicable Information Security Department Programs, and working groups.
  • Provide basic analysis in the development and interpretation of local classification and controlled information guidance.
  • Provide basic guidance on classification and sensitive information matters to INL Derivative Classifiers (DCs).
  • Provide basic classification and declassification reviews for INL classified materials.
  • Apply DOE classification principles and concepts to assure that reports, press releases, publications, scientific papers, journal articles, etc., containing potentially classified subject areas are reviewed for classified and sensitive information and are properly protected.
  • Perform in the administration of DOE Classification, CUI Security Department Programs, and applicable working groups.
  • Promote, establish, and maintain a strong working relationship with all customers for applicable Information Security Department subject areas.
  • Assists the Classification Officer (CO) and Senior Classification Analysts (CA) in conducting a random sampling of document reviews to audit accuracy of DCs and UCNI-ROs decisions.
  • Assists CO and Senior CA in the coordination, direction, interpretation of regulations, preparation of implementing company procedures, compliance verification, and applicable document reviews/updates for Information Security Programs (i.e., Classification, UCNI, CUI, Classified Matter Protection and Control [CMPC], Operations Security [OPSEC]).
  • Assists in providing applicable guidance for the company's Classification, UCNI, and CUI Education Programs..
  • Serve on the CMPC Committee to develop/maintain policies, plans, procedures and to educate and train employees in document marking, accountability, transmission, reproduction, destruction, etc.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Classified Matter Handlers, Classified Document Custodians, and other staff as appropriate regarding CMPC policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Level 1: BS in a scientific or technical field.
  • Level 2: BS in a scientific or technical field with 2 years' experience or MS with 1 years' experience.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information
Salary Grade 190 ($70,680 - $116,616) / Salary Grade 200 ($81,288 - $134,100)
