Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Occupational Health Services group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Health and Fitness Specialist.
Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our Sitewide Facilities with every Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
  • Serve as a well-being subject matter expert for the Laboratory incentive employee engagement program. Work independently to design, develop, market, and coordinate health promotion strategies and techniques in support of the INL Employee Well-Being program objectives and goals.
  • Conduct employee cardiac stress tests. Collaborate with the physical therapy program augmenting services as well as for the Laboratory's injury prevention program. Support the operation of the fitness centers. Provide guidance for injury prevention program incentives.
  • Assist the OHS Wellness Coordinator in aligning the department's mission and goals to the strategic wellness plan. This includes planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of the employee engagement platforms including the Virgin Pulse software, wellness and medical screenings, seminars, educational classes, incentive programs, and health fairs.
  • Drive awareness and engagement in programs to support prevention and early detection of the causes for morbidity and mortality in employee population. Support employee wellness programs focused on fitness, exercise, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles, including the disease management and biometric screenings.
  • Plan and implement classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles in the areas of well-being and health management (prevention awareness, early detection). Create programs to drive culture of well-being as well as managing the fitness centers.
  • Observe effectiveness of programs, including return on investment results. Understand claims trends to recommend and implement new programs to target prevention, as well as defining and tracking the metrics for program success.
  • Assist in the coordination and the development of policies and procedures relevant to the wellness program and collaborate with Occupational Safety and Health and Voluntary Protection Program in initiatives to enhance worker safety and reduce workplace injuries.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of medical and Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in compliance with HIPAA standards and other regulations and policies and adhere to all ESH&Q and training requirements.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's degree in health science, corporate wellness, exercise science or other associated profession and 3 years of relevant professional experience in leading wellness initiatives and programming.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience working with large corporations or government entities in health promotion, fitness training, injury prevention, ergonomics, and in performance exercise testing.
  • Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite.
