Responsibilities Include:
- Function as the Fabrication & MFC Quality Manager to assign and direct work of Quality Engineers and Inspectors within organizational responsibilities.
- Act as the responsible functional area domain expert and decision maker for assigned quality areas.
- Manage technical aspects of quality engineering projects crossing multiple fields (i.e., engineering, fabrication, nuclear operations, procurement, construction, training, etc.)
- Ensure Quality Engineer and Inspector functions are planned, performed, and verified in accordance with INL policy.
- Lead teams to perform area and lab wide quality initiatives.
- Works with project managers and staff for effective development and delivery of engineering design packages.
- Work with customer to act as spokesperson for the organization.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Identify and assign resource commitments and ensure product quality standards.
- Provides project status for quality work on a routine basis.
- Quality work shall be compatible with applicable codes and standards and meet pre-established schedule and cost commitments.
- Manages multiple tasks/projects with little or no oversight.
- Appraise performance of those supervised.
- Provides technical direction, guidance to quality engineers and inspectors.
- Ensure Quality program compliance by providing daily guidance to Quality engineers and inspectors through field observations.
- Provides input on performance to line management.
- Obtain and integrate feedback from employees concerning safety, health, quality, and environmental issues for specific activities and obtain and share relevant lessons learned.
- Communicate Quality program expectations to Quality engineers and inspectors.
- Hold accountable Quality engineers and inspectors for their performance and standards. Monitor performance and provide feedback.
- Ensure Quality engineers and inspectors are current on training requirements for their jobs.
- Provide periodic information for assigned staff (e.g., briefs, training, updates)
- Perform additional duties by the direct organization manager.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related sciences and 8 years relevant experience or 16 years equivalent demonstrable experience with at least 6 years of nuclear experience acquired at a nuclear power, test, research, or production reactor or critical facility.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Ability to lead and motivate people.
- Ability to schedule and assign work activities.
- Ability to communicate technical issues with all levels of the organization,
- Ability to develop solutions and implement action.
- Must be able to Qualify as INL Quality Engineer.
- Must Qualify as INL Lead Assessor.
- Qualify in assigned area specific trainings (e.g., PDD-105, PDD-147, etc.).
- Radiation Worker (I or II for area responsibilities).
- Salary Grade 220 ($107,520 - $177,336)

- TDP: This is a testing designated position; It will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of employment.
