Project Description:
  • This internship will give you hands on power plant experience, and will include increasing your knowledge on power plant systems/sub systems. You will be walking equipment down in the field; you will be verifying the accuracy of drawings and ensuring that work management data base is correct.
  • You will have opportunities to gain knowledge and experience on complex turbine, boiler, steam, generator, and electrical systems at a power plant.
  • You will be a critical team member helping Xcel Energy develop our Asset Performance Management system and will get hands on experience in Reliability engineering techniques, including thermography, vibration analysis, and motor testing.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited school pursuing an engineering degree (preferred mechanical or electrical)
  • Must be a Junior, Senior, or Grad
  • Able to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $22.50 per hour
