The Energy Market Manager of Market Operations and Risk Management leads a team of energy marketers and analysts on various energy desks that manage different aspects of Austin Energy's power portfolio. The Manager develops and grows the renewable footprint in the portfolio as well as assists with the evolution of the changing power portfolio in ERCOT's wholesale market. The manager is responsible for trading strategies, procurement, negotiations and compliance of all commodities and portfolio activity.

ERCOT
This position requires the use of an ERCOT Digital Certificate ( EDC ) and therefore will require a Security Review to determine if the candidate meets all the requirements for issuance of the EDC .
Pay Range
$58.72 - $77.80
Hours
Monday through Friday
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May work evenings, weekends or holiday to support the 24-hour Utility operations.

- Knowledge of wholesale fuel and electric markets and evolving industry and regulatory developments, both nationally and in Texas.
- Knowledge of Austin Energy's wholesale fuel and energy requirements.
- Knowledge of the impacts of recent deregulation trends in the fuel and energy markets.
- Knowledge of utility financial practices, including budget preparation, financial, regulatory and managerial accounting practices.
- Knowledge of systems used to forecast, evaluate and transact business in the wholesale fuel and energy markets.
- Knowledge of applicable processes, techniques, and methods.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, Local laws, and ordinances governing fuel and energy markets.
- Knowledge of supervisory and managerial techniques and principles.
- Skill in planning, organizing, and managing multiple complex projects concurrently.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
