Energy Market Analyst:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, plus three (3) years of experience in a related field.
  • Master's degree with major course work in a field related to the job may substitute for experience up to one (1) year.
  • PhD. with major course work in a field related to the job may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • None.

Energy Market Analyst Senior:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience in a related field
  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job may substitute for experience up toone (1) year
  • PhD. from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job may substitute for experience up to two (2) years

This Energy Analyst Sr position will analyze our Forward, Day Ahead and Real-time market activity on a daily basis to provide feedback on strategy effectiveness. This includes why a transaction may not have performed as expected, potential missed opportunities for generation assets, identify the transmission elements that could cause congestion elevating the risk around transactions and load cost as well as checking and validating P&L for generation assets and trading books. Additional duties would include various market analysis studies (what-ifs, backcasting, etc.) and scenario analysis, tool development and preparing/presenting materials and results to various levels of staff and management.
