ISO NE is currently working on new market designs that help to address the challenges caused by the transition to the clean energy future. We are looking for new talents to perform the much needed research in the area of wholesale electricity market design for ISO New England markets. This role is part of our Advanced Technology Solution team, known internally as our 'think tank."

Hybrid work schedule with up to 3 days remote

How you will make an Impact
  • Conduct research in the area of wholesale electricity market design to facilitate the clean energy transition
  • Analyze system reliability risk and market as well as operational issues and propose resolutions to the identified problems
  • Design market clearing models for newly designed market products
  • Develop market design prototypes and perform market simulation
  • Support market design stakeholder processes and FERC filing
  • Perform market and reliability studies and analyze results
  • Perform research on new tools to improve system reliability and develop new methods for risk-based system operation
What we are looking for
  • Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Operations Research or Computer Science
  • Strong knowledge/experience with power system optimization techniques/models
  • Deep understanding of electricity market operation, power system operations and analysis
  • Working experience with commercial optimization software such as CPLEX, GUROBI, and GAMS
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Five years of experience is required for the Senior Analyst

  • Familiar with ISO New England market rule is a plus
