Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a technical career as a DRAFTER.
Responsibilities Include:
  • As a member of an integrated engineering project team, this senior Drafter applies mechanical engineering design and drafting skills and techniques to facilitate the development of engineered design drawings, and supporting documentation for structures, systems, and components.
  • Has a proficiency in knowledge base and technical expertise and skill in drafting.
  • Works closely with engineers, technicians, operations personnel, project managers, and other drafters to complete detailed design drawings to customer's requirements.
  • Plans a design execution strategy which may include cost estimates of effort and schedule input to meet project achievements.
  • Works in complex multi-discipline teams to perform definitive design and drafting.
  • Provides field support during fabrication, construction, and start-up.
  • Provides technical checking services for mechanical drawings to applicable company and nationally recognized standards.
  • Coordinates checking and drafting activities with drafting personnel, drafting leads, engineers and management.
  • Monitors, trains, guides, and mentors work of more junior staff.
  • Coordinates release of drawings with Document Control using PTC Windchill and EDMS.
  • Knowledgeable in Geometric Tolerancing & Dimensioning.
Minimum Requirements:
  • TS Level 4 or 5:
  • Vocational Certificate and preferred 6-8 years relevant experience.
