Job Summary:
PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for a Construction Manager acting as an Owners Representative supporting construction of a greenfield renewable energy RNG biogas facility located Scipio, NY. The Construction Manager will report to the Project Manager and play a vital role for the project with a focus on HSE, quality, schedule, costs, and adherence to contract documents. The Construction Manager will be the owner's representative on-site providing oversight of project controls, monitoring of the EPC contractor and all aspects related to construction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the facilities are constructed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Verification of adherence to Contract Scope and Specification requirements.
  • Maintaining a positive relationship with all stakeholders, including the owners, contractors, and local agencies.
  • Review and update contractor's daily report via Procore to track construction progress on site.
  • Review of all submittals and RFIs that are distributed for review by contractor via Procore.
  • Review project documentation including technical specifications, calculations, and drawings to ensure protection of owner's position.
  • Assist in the coordination of any additional technical data as may be necessary for contractor to perform the work.
  • Verifying construction progress for conformance to schedule and percentage complete based on field observations against EPC contractor schedule updates.

Job Requirements:
  • Manage all phases of projects from inception through completion and be financially responsible to overall project performance.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contractor.
  • Utilize existing project plan templates to be revised for project specific for review by Key Stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status.
  • Ability to monitor EPC resources through effective oversight for project objectives, including adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Skilled in monitoring schedules, work plans and Owner resource allocation for the project.
  • Ability to organize field data & engineering data to compile various documentation and reports.
  • Ensure Owner corporate policies and programs related to HR, Safety, Quality, and Project Controls are implemented. Ensure that EPC contractor is following their policies and programs.
  • Proficient at managing, defining, and recommending project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills
  • Proficiency with the following MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, MS Project)
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and construction prints for proper buildout of project accordingly.
  • Working knowledge in the review of contracts, design specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold, respond quickly to sounds, see, and respond to dangerous situations.
  • Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to bend, sit and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk down the jobsite and work in various temperatures, noise levels, inside or outside, including walking stairs and ladders.

Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • 3+ years of experience in construction project management for mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Construction Management experience for small to medium EPC projects of greater than >$10M is preferred.
