Job Summary:
PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated Construction Manager supporting the development of a new 900MW Combined-Cycle greenfield site employing Siemens Gas Turbine technology in Lordstown, OH. The Construction Manager will report to the Chief Operations Officer and play a vital role in directing and working closely with subcontractors and site project superintendents for civil, structural, and mechanical project oversight. The Construction Manager will provide oversight of project controls, construction scheduling, budgeting, and planning with travel to the project construction site as needed. The Construction Manager will support a well-established integrated engineering and construction company that services the Energy market. The Construction Manager receives competitive salary plus benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overall job site responsibilities for manpower, schedule, equipment, and resources to support an on-time and on-budget project.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and clients to ensure the goals of the project are achieved.
  • Create long and short-term plans, which include setting measurable targets, to adhere to deadlines.
  • Delegate tasks on the projects to employees best positioned to complete them while maintaining company standards.
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options to progress the project.
  • Communicate with company management to keep the project aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Develop, coach, and support the project team members on all operational activities to achieve project goals.
  • Monitor and track financials for projects to achieve and record objectives of the projects.
  • Work with project team to ensure compliance with company policies, governmental rules/regulations, and regulatory standards.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to monitor & control resources through effective oversight for project objectives.
  • Skilled in developing schedules, work plans and resource allocation for projects.
  • Skilled in preparing and controlling project operational budgets achieving business objectives.
  • Ability to organize field data & engineering data to compile various documentation and reports.
  • Ensure corporate policies and programs related to HR, Safety, Quality, and Project Controls are implemented.
  • Proficient at managing and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills
  • Proficiency with the following MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, MS Project)
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and construction prints for proper buildout of project accordingly.
  • Working knowledge in the development and review of contracts, design specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold, respond quickly to sounds, see and respond to dangerous situations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to use protective equipment correctly (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.) most of the day.

Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10+ years of experience as a Construction Manager or Project Manager for Combined-Cycle Power Plants Construction related experience as an Owners Representative for an Independent Power Producer (IPP) is preferred.
