Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Digital Reactor Technology and Development group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Computational Scientist.
Our team works an on-site 9x80 schedule located at our Research Education Campus with every other Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
The Computational Scientist will support the Digital Reactor Technology and Development Department in machine learning applications to further the Idaho National Laboratory's vision to change the world's energy future. The work supports Department of Energy programs (Integrated Energy Systems, Light Water Reactor Sustainability, etc.) and laboratory directed research and development.
They will support the RAVEN software (https://github.com/idaholab/raven) and fellow team members in applying machine learning methods for economic and nuclear analysis. Work will include optimizing and troubleshooting code for high performance computing clusters, operating systems (Mac, Linux, Windows), and software libraries. In addition, work includes implementing innovative machine learning algorithms into the RAVEN software and plugins.
Minimum Requirements:
  • BS in computer science or closely related field
  • BS in computer science or closely related field and 2 years of experience
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with parallel computing
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with multiple operating systems (Mac, Linux, Windows)
  • Experience with C++
