Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 8-12+ years relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 6-8+ years' experience.

Responsibilities Include:
- Proactively identify, promote, and develop CERCLA planning documents for new projects.
- Develop, review, and provide input to key regulatory and technical reports/documents; the 5-yr CERCLA review, annual IC monitoring report, Notice of Soil Disturbance for all BEA work, New Site Identification, development of Sampling Plans when required for site investigation, sampling data, and guidance regarding the applicability of HAZWOPER training.
- Work with other PELs where work inside existing facilities will impact known CERCLA sites or upon discovery of possible new CERCLA sites.
- Interact with researchers, managers, construction personnel, Operations Leads, Chief Operating Officers, and other PELs and Technical Points of Contacts (TPOCs) to ensure environmental compliance.
- Works with other support functions including Engineering, Safety and Health, Radiological Controls, Quality Assurance, Training, and Performance Assurance to help integrate environmental considerations into all aspects of work planning and performance.
- Environmental aspects and media associated with work outside of fenced facilities or not associated with existing Test Ranges, i.e., such as Power line testing, RRTR, Wireless Testing, and NSTR.
- Monitor and evaluate customer implementation of environmental requirements. This is done using work planning document reviews, participation in work planning and workability walk-downs, self-assessments of field operations and general field operations.
- Collaborate with customers in resolving environmental compliance issues. This is done through the interpretation of company policies, guidance, and procedures.
- Attending the Land Use Committee, Wildland Fire Committee, and working with the Campus Development Office.
- Represent BEA in critical meetings with regulators, including proposing regulatory compliance strategies, preparing and presenting technical interpretations, and position papers, and complex Notice of Violation or Consent Order negotiations.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field plus 8-12+ years relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 6-8+ years' experience.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Experience in CERCLA applicable to the INL.
- Requires a functional understanding of OSHA, 10 CFR 851, CWA, RCRA, CAA, TSCA, nuclear operations and applicable DOE Orders and company manuals and policies specific to ESH, and how they apply to site activities.
- Must demonstrate the ability to meet project commitments with minimal guidance and be able to work complex problems to completion.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have demonstrated ability to collaborate with line management in appropriate line management decision-making.
- Knowledgeable in nuclear operations, environmental sampling theory, chemistry/chemical processing, regulatory requirements management, self-disclosures, and waste minimization.
- Site/Facility Operations experience.
- Knowledge in PFAS.
- Salary Grade PR0400: 220 ($107,520 - $177,336) / Salary Grade PR0500: 230 ($121,212 - $206,232)
