Responsibilities Include:
- Provide support for the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Critique and Cause Analysis Processes.
- Support critiques and causal analyses in response to events across the INL per the INL Issues Management process as directed by Program Lead for the INL programs.
- Work with all levels of INL management as well as DOE to ensure the INL performs timely and though analysis of events requiring critiques and/or cause analysis.
- Support the INL Program Lead for Critiques and Causals in reporting to INL Operations Council and BEA Operations Committee (corporate oversight) on status of operational events, investigations, cause factors, corrective actions, and adverse trends.
- Communicate analysis results to management supporting proper corrective actions.
- Actively support all causal analysis for operational events.
- Apply Human Performance Improvement concepts while leading critiques, causal analysis, and making recommendations for corrective action plans.
- Represent INL/BEA complex-wide forums and committees including the Energy Facility Contractors' group (EFCOG). Battelle Community of Practices, BEA partnership organizations, etc.
- Present analysis results and professional opinions/recommendations to INL senior leadership and/or corporate boards and governance bodies.
- Support selects critiques and cause analyses and special initiatives.
- Understand and apply principles of investigation techniques and human performance in conducting critiques and investigations.
- Draft reports summarizing analysis results and recommendations for peer review by INL program lead.
- Deliver training to INL management and staff in performing/leading Critiques and Causal Analysis processes and techniques in support of these processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 relevant experience in facility operations or advanced degree plus 3 yrs. experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Business field.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Outstanding written and interpersonal communications.
- Ability to qualify as an INL apparent cause analyst within 6 months.
- Experience as a Lead Investigator, Critique Leader, and Cause Analyst qualification.
- Salary Grade 200 ($81,288 - $134,100)
- Chosen applicants are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- TDP: Testing designated position; It will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of employment.
