Associate Software Developer
The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO's Information Technology department invites applications for a full-time Associate Software Developer.
An Associate Software Engineer performs full stack development, including front end, back end, and database work where appropriate, under the guidance of senior staff. The individual will also participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle under the guidance of senior technical staff and their team Supervisor and participate in a 24x7x365 on-call support rotation for production applications.
- Bachelor's Degree (BS), Computer Science or Information Systems required.
- Experience performing software development in a multi-dimensional team setting desired
- Experience with the following desired:
- Experience with Transactional BI reporting systems - design, development and production support
- SQL, Oracle PL/SQL
- Git/other Source Control technology
- Jenkins/Build Automation
- Unit test automation - ability to understand requirements and write automated tests
- Agile development methodologies
