Job Brief

The Senior IT Systems Analyst provides architecturally sound and strategically minded solutions to meet business needs and align with SRP IT and industry best practices. This position provides application support to a variety of departments within SRP and is involved throughout application lifecycle. They are responsible for the health and wellness of the technical environments and software assets that the team supports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Product lifecycle management (governance, development/deployment, and maintenance) of computer programs. Responsibilities encompass requirements management, software architecture, computer programming, software testing, software maintenance, change management, continuous integration, project management, and release management.
  • Support of primarily vendor applications.
  • Under minimal supervision, work closely with project team members, vendors, and clients, providing expertise in problem solving and innovation.
  • Work closely with project team to ensure application design adheres to user feature requirements and security standards.
  • Supervise software applications from initial planning and development, through testing and maintenance, and into decommissioning and retirement.


Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three-years of experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

  • IIS / Web server management
  • Programming: JavaScript, C#/VB.Net, T-SQL, Java
  • Expertise in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers and views
  • SQL server
  • MS SQL SSIS and SSRS
  • Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) data processes
  • Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
  • IT Cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Windows Operating Systems both server and desktop
  • Experience with Tableau Business Intelligence Software is a plus
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow


Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to work on more than one high profile, complex project concurrently.
  • Ability to independently research and learn new ways to solve complex business problems utilizing programming best practices
  • Complete understanding and application of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM). Including familiarity with both Waterfall and Iterative development methodologies
  • Understanding of data models and logical databases and their evolution to physical database design.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft family of products (Word, Excel, Exchange, Active Directory, etc.)
  • Able to work both in a team environment and independently and deliver high quality results when provided a set of technical requirements
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with other IT departments including data management, server/network management, cyber security and messaging.
  • Ability to respond to infrastructure change requirements such as OS upgrades or Cyber Security policy changes
