GTI Energy Tech Talk: Gulf Coast Gas Infrastructure: A Launchpad for Low-Carbon Fuels

As the U.S. looks to balance economic growth, energy security, and energy abundance, leveraging and upgrading gas infrastructure is key to advancing safer and more resilient energy systems.

To support this effort, GTI Energy created the Reliable Affordable Infrastructure for Secure Energy (RAISE) collaborative. RAISE equips decision makers with the research and investments needed to advance innovation and technology solutions to upgrade today’s energy systems to meet tomorrow’s needs.

RAISE’s latest case study, focused on the Gulf Coast, evaluates how leveraging existing gas infrastructure can accelerate deployment of emerging fuels. The results identify opportunities, policy considerations, and investment priorities for three fuels with strong potential: hydrogen, renewable natural gas (RNG), and synthetic natural gas (SNG).

These fuels stand out as promising solutions to further enhance energy security and increase low-carbon energy supply. The Gulf Coast analysis explores how robust regional pipelines, storage assets, and COâ‚‚ networks can be leveraged to speed adoption.

Join GTI Energy’s Hon Xing Wong, Shadi Salahshoor, PhD, David Van Wagener, PhD, and May Kwan, PE, as they discuss key takeaways from the report and learn how today’s infrastructure can empower the fuel mix of the future.
