Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) is the largest department of the City of Tacoma. TPU provides water, power, wastewater, surface water, and solid waste services to more than 180,000 customers. Their fleet of self-service kiosks are strategically located in its payment center and across the City of Tacoma in local grocery stores. These kiosks let people conveniently pay in locations they frequently visit, including after regular business hours. Now, TPU is expanding payment options by launching new City of Tacoma bill types on their popular kiosks.

Hear from Mike Hill, Assistant Manager of Customer Services at Tacoma Public Utilities, about:

  • How TPU determined kiosks were the right option for their customers paying in person
  • The process of identifying the best community locations for their customers to conveniently access the kiosks, including for those paying multiple city and utility bills
  • Customer service improvements and cost savings realized from implementing self-service payment kiosks
