Our lack of collective responsibility goes to extremes here in Brazil.
The privatization of Eletrobrás - the largest power generation company in Brazil - as conceived by the politicians is a disgrace. Associated with absurd investment requirements, represented by contracting generation units without any connection with competitiveness.
The news reveals that this is an absurd way to protect schemes that favor "the usual politicians", which would profit and a lot from these otherwise unfeasible projects.
It is imperative to privatize the country's generation sector as it does not have the capacity to make the necessary investments. But the least that is desired is that the new owners have the possibility to choose the strategy, seeking competitiveness of course respecting the regulation.
