EVs in Brazil: starting at the end?

EVs in Brazil: starting at the end?

Some of the big automakers are announcing the beginning of production - still in 2019 - of electric vehicles in Brazil .

The news is great because it puts the country in "the global race". But ... how about the associated infrastructure?

How to enable the value chain - capital intensive - involving generation, transmission and distribution to charge this massive additional load? Or, even distributed generation (such as photovoltaic) how to deal with the source's intermittence?

The big challenge is to make available the supply of energy, in a competitive way to load the vehicles. It is a work that needs to be done with careful planning, well in advance, with clear rules, legal solidity and therefore predictability.

Brazil needs ASAP to "start at the beginning"
