Energy companies are adopting artificial intelligence and machine learning software in order to more efficiently manage the grid, according to Gartner Inc. Recently, they have been adding intelligence to Supervisory Control and Data Acquistion (SCADA) systems, so utilities monitor energy flow in real time. Gartner estimates that between 5% to 20% of utilities invested in the advanced grid management software today, and that percentage will grow to over 60% in 2026.
