In Michigan MPSC is demanding more information on the tunnel that Enbridge proposes to build under the straights of Mackinaw.
One hopes that the MPSC considers that the tunnel could also carry transmission voltage connections between the two peninsulas also.
Right now without a reliable connector to the UP, the UP pays more for electricity because of grid stability issues.
The other reason this makes good sense it is allows power from the great plains to travel a route similar to US-2 into the eastern markets.
I hope that some of this becomes consideration by the Michigan State Government as a whole.
