Grid Investment Plan
Georgia Power is spending $1.3B over three years to improve reliability, resiliency and customer service. The program includes automated line devices, adding alternate service connections, OH line relocation and hardening, and strategic undergrounding
The GP website says “Overhead lines in certain areas may be more prone to outages caused by trees contacting lines or vehicular collisions. Placing targeted portions of overhead lines underground makes lines less prone to outages”.
