Starbucks has been accused of overbuilding more than a few times. Now in energy, the concern is whether new rules by FERC would result in “overbuilding” of the transmission system and leave some grid assets stranded. How extensive should transmission reforms be? Will new regulations lead to an unnecessary burden from transmission cost? Please share your thoughts. Oh and by the way, they’re building a new Starbucks in my neighborhood.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission should avoid crafting new rules that could result in "stranded" transmission assets and unnecessary new power lines, analysts and grid operators warned the independent agency yesterday.
