FERC Commissioner Phillips’s views on how to improve transmission, interconnection
Commissioner Phillips recognizes that many transmission systems are very old and that “reconductoring,” or replacing existing transmission lines with new wires that have greater capacity makes sense. Dave Bryant adds: "Great time for Utilities to take a closer look at the ACCC Conductor (that has already been used by 250 utilities to increase the capacity and improve the reliability of over 1,100 transmission lines in 60 countries).

FERC Commissioner Phillips in a policy forum last week hosted by the American Council on Renewable Energy (and reported by PV Magazine's William Driscoll), stated that the use of Advanced Conductors to upgrade the capacity of the existing grid makes perfect sense.
