The news that the Biden Administration is focusing on transmission projects is significant, but more significant in this announcement is the reference to an independent "Ready to Go" report that identifies 22 shovel-ready transmission projects that would spur $33 billion in investment and create 600,000 related transmission jobs. The report also estimates that the projects would then spur solar and wind projects that could create an additional 640,000 jobs. Wow, 1.2 million jobs, increased resiliency and carving a path to further reduce carbon emissions -- pretty good deal.
