Climate Fiction can Change the World

Last week my wife and I drove our electric vehicle down to southern Oregon from northern Washington, where we joined a passel of friends to attend the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. This has been our annual pilgramage for some forty years now. My favorite play was Virgins to Villains, a wonderful one-act, one-person show, absolutely hilarious. The other high point for me was seeing my book CLIMATE DRAGON displayed at Bloomsbury Books right next to one of my personal heroes in the climate fiction subgenre, Kim Stanley Robinson. His book MINISTRY FOR THE FUTURE has sold a few more books than mine has, but then Stan—he goes by Stan, not Kim—is considered by many to be the dean of climate fiction, and he has had multiple best sellers, deservedly so. Gotta say it was wonderful being in such august company. And we all need to support our independent bookstores. Remember, the best way to support an author and support a bookstore is to buy the damn book. And read it. Finally, share it with your friends and get the word out. Change your life.
