Why Grid Modernization is Essential to Decarbonization
In 1896, Swedish scientist Svante Arrhenius published a paper “On the Influence of Carbonic Acid in the Air upon the Temperature of the Ground.” His paper presented a concern about CO2 emissions and its potential impact on global warming. Over the last 127 years many things have changed. Please take a look at this brief article and learn more about whet we are doing about it in the #Electric #Transmission community.
Why Grid Modernization is Essential to Decarbonization
While many efforts are underway to develop new cleaner sources of generation to reduce CO2 emissions, and many new transmission lines have been proposed and are seeking approval to connect these assets, our existing power grid is aged and desperately in need of a ‘makeover.’ Fortunately, there are a number of novel technologies that are available to support these objectives to improve the efficiency, capacity, reliability and resilience of today’s electric power grid.
