We're still in the midst of summer, and for many people that means some much overdue travel.

At Energy Central, we hope that means you're getting some time away to relax, explore, and enjoy your time out of the office-- but if you're like us, that probably means you're still taking notice of interesting reminders of the Power Industry no matter where you are.

So-- show us those travel/vacation pictures that somehow relate to the power industry! What photos have you taken while on vacation this summer of an interesting piece of utility infrastructure, asset, or otherwise?

And if you don't have power-related pics, but just serene landscapes or fun times with you and your family-- do feel free to share those as well :) The Energy Central Community and the utility industry at large is about people, after all, so the photos of you and your loved ones represent the hard work that keeps the sector moving along!

Let's get the collective Energy Central travel slideshow started!

I'll start!

It's a bit cheating because this is in my background rather than a destination I've traveled to, but it is Orlando which is one of the busiest tourist destinations because of Disney World, and when I drive there I always love passing this energy reminder:

I took this picture in Key West this weekend.  Made me think of the need for vegetation management across different grids. And, how nice this beautiful tree would look with underground electric!

This picture is from a recent bike ride along the plains of Colorado.  The Rocky Mountains are in the background!

This picture is from rural WY - traveling up to SD.

Sorry, my family will tell you that I take too many energy related pictures. I stop all the time when I see something I like. So, I have a couple to share here. Plus, I wanted to give the Energy Central Load Management Group an indirect plug via the Rocky Mountain Utility Exchange mug.

From Kansas (wind turbines for miles!), Aspen, CO (Technically, Woody Creek just outside of Hunter S. Thompson's favorite Colorado tavern). and new my house outside of Boulder, CO (sunset).

Transmission lines behind the double rainbow at my house, camping with my Rocky Mountain Utility Exchange travel mug (might have been taken last summer), and my EV charger with a reminder about my summer time Peak Demand pricing.

P.S. I don't know what others did and if I overcomplicated it. But, I had to upload the photos onto a public server to embed it, rather than simply attach and post.

Love it, thanks Eric! Neat to see all the wind turbines in Kasnas-- could you tell if that was otherwise brownland? Are there crops interspersed?

And yes, we're aware of the picture issue and are working on a fix-- thanks for the note there!

Eric - I love it. It is funny since I started managing the community, I find myself taking power industry-related pics.  I will get comments from the family asking why I am taking another photo of a power line :).  Love the plug for the Rocky Mountain Utility Exchange - Ed and Tiger will thank you!

PS - sorry about the picture issue - we are working on fixing this!

What a wonderful picture-- thanks for sharing, Manuel. Did you encounter any sort of wildlife on the lake?
