The Energy Mix Publisher Awarded Canada’s Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe Territory [Ottawa, ON]: November 3, 2022 – The Energy Mix publisher and managing editor Mitchell Beer has been awarded the Canada’s Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Award (https://www.clean50.com) by the Delta Management Group and the Clean50 organization.

Now in its 12th year, the Clean50 recognizes contributions toward sustainable development and the advancement of a low-carbon economy in Canada.

”Delta’s criteria in determining Honourees is to carefully consider actual measurable accomplishments, demonstrated innovation, collaboration with other organizations, and the power of the Honouree’s contribution to inspire other Canadians to take similar action,” says Delta Management Group CEO Gavin Pitchford.

Established in May, 2014, The Energy Mix is a non-profit community news site and e-digest that delivers the climate news you need to readers across Canada and around the world. The Mix is known for its timeliness and relevance, with a growing editorial team producing content to help speed up Canada’s response to the global climate emergency.

Going outside the usual bounds of commercial journalism, The Mix is also one of the lead partners in the Green Resilience Project, a Canada-wide series of local listening sessions on climate change, income security, and local resilience.

“It’s such an honour to be named as one of the five 2023 recipients of the Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Award (https://www.clean50.com),” Beer said. “But I would never have qualified without the relentlessly dedicated team that makes The Energy Mix and the Green Resilience Project possible. I’m looking forward to connecting and collaborating with other members of Canada’s Clean50 and working together on climate change, decarbonization, and the other environment and sustainability issues that bind this community together.”

Each year, Canada’s Clean50 recognizes Canada’s remarkable and inspiring leaders in sustainability. The Clean50 also seeks to connect those leaders in order to bridge gaps, and build connections that might not otherwise occur.
