This is just way too cool not to mention here on EC. You gotta watch the video - that's a pair that beats a "full house", IMO. I'll bet it would be fun to have a drink and conversation with those two Ladies. Please stop by Western MA to say hello.
As a Father of two daughters, I appreciate seeing these "Leading Ladies" of Energy putting the pedal to the metal to drive home an important message to other young women that you can make a difference, through your actions. Too many times our leaders rely on words alone to influence public opinion, but this demonstration of real action to address our Nation's critical infrastructure needs will have a real impact.  Well done, Ladies. Bravo!

Joe, Biden isn't listening to Leading Lady and Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granhom, who insists it's critical to support existing nuclear plants for America's clean energy future - he's ignoring her. Maybe he's told her to stay home and do the dishes, to let the men figure this one out.

That wouldn't set a very good example, does it?

One of the things that stood out to me about Granholm's nomination was that she was an Executive in experience, being a former governor (akin to former Sec Perry) rather than coming from the science side (akin to former Sec's Chu and Moniz). That gave me pause because I was hoping to get back to the science-backed leadership, but Sec Granholm has indeed demonstrated a commitment and dedication to that science, despite not being a scientist by background. Having her and McCarthy seamlessly lead these departments as women in traditionally male-dominated STEM areas is indeed a cherry on top as well, as you note Dick-- a great message to continue to send to young girls interested in science, technology, and the environment.

Amen, Matt. I'm proud of my two daughters, one a teacher in the Springfield MA school system and the other a GIS expert in the Energy industry working on distribution network model management, using ESRI's software! ESRI is one of the sponsors of EC, that we all greatly appreciate. Would love for both of my daughters to meet these inspirational "Leading Ladies of Energy", if they stop by Western Mass.
