Mixed signals
What is your perception of the progress of the economy?
This question is very important because the answer defines - to a large extent - the posture of companies and institutions in relation to their strategies for their activities and, of course, energy as well.
And the great challenge posed is the confusion of signals, all over the world. In the United States, the secretary of the treasury (Janet Yellen) gave an interview this weekend, in which she categorically stated that the country is slowing down but not entering a recession.
In Brazil, our leaders have repeated that the country is going well and very strongly to sum it up in a few words.
But most analysts around the world point to a recession when they look at escalating prices for oil, food, and global inflation.
And so whoever has the responsibility to decide is plunged into a very difficult situation for lack of robust signals.
