Thanks for bringing attention to this important development. It will be interesting to follow and see if Shell is responsive and what the courts might say. It may well end up a long drawn-out, expensive process with frustratingly  few results. To be sure the UK political/judicial process, not the world’s most responsive or responsible one, will move slowly. It is to be hoped that citizens’ groups can mobilize to apply real pressure.

The first question: What do the complainants hope to get? Perhaps deadlines for meeting emissions goals for which the Board members are held legally and financially responsible? That would certainly be a first.
