European Power Markets Experiences Drastic Highs and Lows
Our Senior Analyst Dr. Anamaria Toebe from Volue Insight has been looking at the spot deliveries across Europe for the past one-and-a-half weeks. The market has seen prices fluctuating from close to 0 €/MWh on the 7th of November up to 323 €/MWh for today (17th of November) in South East Europe. High gas and record carbon are keeping power prices on the bullish side, but weather, especially wind, can make a difference in terms of prices volatility and coupling/decoupling between neighbouring areas. The beginning of this week experienced the nearly perfect convergence around the continental European areas.
