"Number 16 is spot on - I know from experience, I've seen the attacks."

I have too, Richard. A $20 million company for which I was doing web development work was the victim of a ransomware attack, and was shut down for weeks. Fortunately its owner had made complete system backups each night - but every computer on his system (40+) had to be reformatted, fresh OSs, applications, and documents restored. Every one of these attacks, in my experience, was using Microsoft Exchange Server - and many still are.

Thanks for sharing, Bob. Your customer is one of the lucky (smart) ones having backups ready to go. Software supply chain attacks exploiting known vulnerabilities, such as the MS Exchange scenario, are very effective and efficient hacker attack vectors.
