Iran is Starting an Oil/Natural Gas War

image credit: Oil and Natural Gas War

The standoff between the US and Iran has been brewing intensely throughout Donald Trump’s three years in the White House because unlike Obama, Trump did not agree to help Iran build nuclear weapons.

The standoff stems from Iran’s confrontational and irresponsible attitude towards other nations. Iran has consolidated its presence in Iraq. And Saudi Arabia has paid the price for Iran’s dominance in Lebanon.

Vulnerability at sea

The interests of the US and of its allies are vulnerable on the oceans as oil tankers carrying almost one third of the world’s oil, pass within a few miles of the Iranian coastline because their route takes them through the Strait of Hormuz to all the different industrial points of the world.

Though America is not completely beholden to Middle Eastern oil because of fracking and oil shale. Too bad the braindead states of California and New York don’t get this!

America is loaded with natural gas. America does not need natural gas and oil from other countries like it used to.

Attacks at sea

With the increase in US sanctions, Iran has constantly tried to secure revenue through oil exports that utilize the same seaborne paths. Iranian leaders have made it more than clear how important the Gulf waters are to their country’s economy and to those of its enemies. Look at what happened in May, new Gulf tanker attacks being carried out by Iran targeted ships carrying cargo from Saudi and Emirati ports.

Iran’s threat

In February, Ali Shamkhani, the brainwashed secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, stated that any threat to the country’s oil exports would cause closure of the strait. He threatened that Iran has multiple means to close the strait which would be best not used. (Iran, as expected, has vehemently denied involvement in the May attacks or the recent ones.)

Iran is playing with fire. Iran – a word please – Trump is not a wimp like Obama! Obama is the one who allowed WMD to be used in Syria. Obama is the one who was intimidated by the murderous Syrian President!

In regards to what was already mentioned, America does not need other countries like it used to. Some people actually ask when will the US Navy pull out of the Persian Gulf since America does not depend on natural gas and oil imports as we did back in the 70s.

Contempt for Trump

Khaminei is strongly opposed to new talks or negotiations with the US especially from a perceived position of weakness. He has also informed subordinates to curate carefully the responses to any US moves.

He is of the opinion that the US is trying to take away all that Iran gained since the ousting of Saddam Hussein (and his two psychotic sons) and is sending the country back into ancient times when Iran is actually doing that to themselves.

If Iran is found to be the perpetrator of the recent attacks at sea, as some US officials have suggested, there will soon be a searching test on both sides. But Iran continues to be in denial, reminding foes of its capability which it does not have much because it’s a broke nation with an economy even worse than Chicago’s.

An unsuccessful approach

Irrational senior Iran analyst and Iran project director for the International Crisis Group, Ali Vaez, explained that Iran’s role in these attacks, if found guilty, points to failure of a US policy based solely on coercion. America’s policy is working just fine. America’s economy is strong because of tax cuts and Iran continues to live in Harry Potter land.

De-escalation of tensions requires diplomatic efforts by allies (but Iran is not America’s ally so this point is baseless) but nothing can be resolved with Washington’s ‘all or nothing’ attitude. When it comes to dealing with lunatic leaders such as those that lead Iran, all or nothing is the only want to deal with them. This is a country that continues to sponsor terrorism all over the region.

Iran is about to get thumped and no, America does not need to put boots on the ground despite the ridiculous attitude of Geraldo Rivera and his amazing statements.
