Hydrogen
The Hydrogen Taskforce seeks to drive growth in the demand for and supply of clean hydrogen through company and sectoral public commitments coupled with practical, demonstrable projects.
I am proud to be the chair of the Hydrogen Taskforce launched by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales’ The Sustainable Markets Initiative.
The taskforce recognises the important role that hydrogen plays in reaching global net-zero emissions. As part of the initiative, we will be working together to accelerate the growth in the demand and supply of clean hydrogen across different sectors, including transport, industry and heating.
Momentum is growing behind the vision of a net-zero emissions world and the action needed to achieve it, drawing in a growing number of businesses, energy consumers, and governments. There is a clear opportunity for hydrogen to play a role. The versatility of hydrogen as an energy carrier will be critical to reach those parts of the system that will be hard to electrify.
I’m looking forward to continuing working with the taskforce representatives from Anglo American, Bank of America, bp, Cummins Inc., Fortescue Metals Group, Hydrogen Council , ITM, Linde, Macquarie Group, Shell, Siemens Energy, Toyota Motor Corporation, and 8RIVERS PARTNERS LIMITED.
