Smartphones Use of AI Streamlines Operations

Smatrphones, like Samsung Galaxy S24, include new generative artificial intelligence features that may make the devices more attractive to utilities. The new functions have the potential to make work simpler for mobile field technicians and remote workers. Consequently, energy companies may take a closer look at the capabilities and how they can streamline workflow.

Many employees spend the day writing. Samsung’s Chat Assist uses AI to capture specific tones, including one of the workplace. Individuals can use the feature to speed up creation of emails, proposals, or other correspondences they need to complete during the workday.

Some employees like to work with words and others with images. The phone’s Transcript Assist feature creates a transcript for video recordings, such as a Zoom meeting. Employees can use it to refresh their memory of what was said and those who did not attend have the option of viewing the interaction or reading what happened.

The Galaxy S24 can also slow down the action in any video. The video can be in any format and does not have to be recorded on a Galaxy device. The feature could help remote technicians walk through servicing energy company equipment.

Companies that have international offices may find the Live Translate feature helpful. When talking with someone speaking a different language, they receive two-way, real-time voice or text translations.

Energy companies are constantly trying to become more efficient. The new generative AI solutions would make it easier for them to justify outfitting employees with smartphones since the new capabilities can be so helpful.
